CEO & Co-Founder
Taiya spent her career negotiating, across the U.S. government, with our allies and competitors, especially China, and at times with rebel groups. The work taught her how much depends on numbers that are correct and reliable, and the need to have them fast. Analysis that arrives after the room has emptied is worth nothing.
Speed is what led her to AI, and Phylleos is the result: the numbers a decision-maker needs when they need them, with an account of where they came from and where they are going. She held senior roles at the U.S. Treasury and the U.S. Department of State and worked in private advisory before co-founding the firm.
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Ashley designed and built the structural models Phylleos runs: the flagship global macro-financial dynamic simulation model and the national and sub-national models in the suite, together with the calibration methodology and the data pipelines that keep them current. The suite is the latest generation of a modeling lineage he has developed continuously for thirty years and applied to client engagements in dozens of countries.
As Chief Technology Officer he built the prototype of the Phylleos platform and leads its development: the analytical backbone on which every client view runs. It is shaped by the person who built what sits behind it and who knows the questions clients bring to it.
Before Phylleos he was Chief Economist and Managing Director at Millstein & Co. and at KPMG, founder and CEO of The MacroDyn Group, a senior adviser to U.S. federal agencies, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre of Policy Studies, advising governments, corporations and NGOs in more than forty countries. He holds a PhD in economics from Monash University and an adjunct appointment at the Centre of Policy Studies, Victoria University.
Chief Information Security Officer
Responsible for keeping client data safe and private: the security posture of both the public site and the client platform, and the infrastructure architecture the two run on.
For clients in government and financial institutions, the questions that arrive well before a contract does are his to answer. Who can reach the data, what gets logged, how access is granted and revoked.
Chief Financial Officer
Mallory founded Office Accomplice, an advisory practice that helped more than a hundred businesses build the processes, teams, and financial systems to survive their own growth, backed by ongoing bookkeeping support. She ran it from 2010 to 2022 and remains a partner.
In 2022 she became COO of Skyward Aviation, a Part 135 air carrier, where she built the company's financial systems and runs budgeting and regulatory compliance. It is an industry where careless accounting ends companies.
She lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband and three teenagers.
Chief Scientist, Energy & Emissions
Matt has spent thirty years in energy, environmental and materials science, turning research into products. At DuPont he led technical marketing for Asia and patented new products. At Bayer he led innovation management and technology consulting for Asia and ran the company's first corporate carbon footprint study. As Vice President of R&D at LP AMINA he developed technologies for energy and environmental markets.
His work runs from synthetic graphite and conductive carbon for arc furnace electrodes and lithium-ion batteries to pyrolysis, gasification and gas-to-liquids. His consulting links technology risk to market assessment, for heavy industry, batteries, food and agriculture.
He advises the University of Pennsylvania's chemical engineering faculty on climate technology. He holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Penn, where he was a DuPont-Conoco Fellow, and a BS from Penn State.
